    What Open PageRank measures

Open PageRank applies the original PageRank idea to domains: a domain is important when important domains link to it. It is computed from the Common Crawl and published by DomCop. The score runs from 0 to 10 on a logarithmic scale, so going from 6 to 7 is much harder than from 2 to 3.

    What it does not measure

No third party score is used by Google. Moz Domain Authority, Ahrefs Domain Rating and Open PageRank are estimates from different link indexes and will not agree. Use one consistently, compare sites in the same market, and look at the links themselves before you decide anything.

    Where the data comes from

The domains you enter are sent to the Open PageRank api through Aback's server. Aback keeps no copy of the result.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is this Moz Domain Authority?

No. Moz Domain Authority is a commercial metric from Moz. This tool shows Open PageRank, a free score from 0 to 10 built from Common Crawl data.

Is Open PageRank the same as Google PageRank?

No. Google stopped publishing PageRank in 2016. Open PageRank uses the same idea on public crawl data, at the level of whole domains.

    What is a good score?

It depends on the market. Large global sites score 8 to 10. Most established small businesses score between 2 and 5.

Why does my domain have no score?

Open PageRank only scores domains that other sites link to in its crawl. New sites and sites with few links may have none yet.

How often is the score updated?

Open PageRank updates its data a few times a year. The date of the last update is shown with the result.

Does a higher score mean higher rankings?

Not by itself. Links help pages rank, but relevance, content and the page experience matter as much.

How many checks can I run?

Thirty requests an hour from one network, with up to ten domains in each.
