Disavow File Generator for Google Search Console

Paste the links and domains you want Google to ignore. The generator validates every line, removes duplicates, can convert urls to whole domains, and writes a file ready to upload.

Build a disavow file

Paste urls, domains or an existing file. The output updates as you type.

Paste hosts, full addresses or domain: lines from a backlink export. Hosts become domain: lines.

Disavow only links you could not get removed and that are clearly unnatural. Most sites never need this file.

Why use the Disavow File Generator

    Validated lines

Every line is checked: urls need http or https, domains need a valid name, and anything else is listed with the reason.

    Domain conversion

Turn single urls into domain: entries so a spammy site is covered completely.

    No duplicates

Repeated entries and urls already covered by a domain entry are removed.

    Merge files

Paste an existing disavow file together with new links; comments are kept.

When to use the Disavow File Generator

    Manual actions

Prepare the file after Google reports unnatural links to your site.

    Negative SEO

Disavow a sudden wave of spam links.

    Bought links

Clean up links bought by a previous agency.

    Updating a file

Merge new domains into the file you already uploaded.

    Audit exports

Turn a link audit spreadsheet into a valid file.

    Documentation

Add dated comments so the next person knows why each line is there.

    Understanding Disavow File

    How to use the generator

    1. 1Paste. Urls, domains, domain: entries and comments, one per line.
    2. 2Choose. Convert urls to domains when the whole site is spam.
    3. 3Review. Fix or drop the lines listed as invalid.
    4. 4Upload. Download disavow.txt and upload it in the disavow links tool of Search Console.

    Use it with care

Google ignores most spam links on its own. Disavow only when you have a manual action for unnatural links, or a clear set of links you built or bought that could lead to one. Disavowing good links can hurt your rankings.

    The format

One entry per line, as a full url or as domain:example.com, which covers every page and subdomain. Lines starting with # are comments. The file must be UTF-8 or ASCII text, under 2 MB and 100,000 lines. Each upload replaces the previous file.

    Privacy

The generator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to Aback or anywhere else, and your last input is kept in this browser so a reload does not lose it.

    Frequently asked questions

Do I need a disavow file?

Most sites do not. Use one when you have a manual action for unnatural links or know of links that break Google's spam policies.

    Url or domain?

Domain entries are safer for spam sites, because spam often appears on many pages and subdomains. Use urls when only one page of a good site links badly.

    Does domain:example.com cover www?

Yes. A domain entry covers the domain and all of its subdomains.

Does uploading replace my old file?

Yes. Each upload replaces the previous one, so always upload the full list. Paste your current file here first.

How long does it take to work?

Google applies the file as it recrawls the linking pages, which can take weeks.

    Can I disavow nofollow links?

There is no need. Nofollow, sponsored and ugc links do not pass ranking signals.

    Is my list sent anywhere?

No. The file is built in your browser.
