Understanding Meta Tag
How to use the generator
- 1Title and description. Aim for 50 to 60 and 120 to 160 characters.
- 2Canonical url. The absolute address of the page.
- 3Image. An absolute https url to a 1200 by 630 image for the social card.
- 4Copy. Paste the tags into the head of the page, replacing any duplicates.
Writing a good title
Lead with what the page is about, in the words people search for, then the brand. Make each title unique across the site. Avoid stuffing keywords, search engines rewrite titles that look spammy.
Writing a good description
Summarise the page and give a reason to click. It is not a ranking factor, but it is often the snippet people read before deciding.
Privacy and availability
The generator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to Aback or anywhere else, and it keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
Copy or download the result and publish it on your own site. Then check the live file with the matching checker, because what crawlers see is what your server sends.

Frequently asked questions
Which meta tags matter for SEO?
The title, the meta description, the canonical link and the robots directives. The viewport and the language attribute matter for mobile and international search.
Do I need both Open Graph and Twitter tags?
Open Graph covers most platforms. X falls back to it, but twitter:card is needed for the large image layout. The generator writes both.
Should the og:title match the title tag?
It can, but it does not have to. Social titles can be shorter and drop the site name.
What image size should I use?
1200 by 630 pixels for a large card on every major platform.
What does robots index, follow mean?
It is the default: index the page and follow its links. You only need a robots tag to change it, for example noindex.
Can I generate tags for many pages?
The generator writes one page at a time. Use its output as the pattern for your template.
How do I check the live page?
Run the meta tag checker and the Open Graph checker on the published url.
